Fernando Alonso missed another opportunity to score points when he was forced to retire due to a reliability problem. Having put in some remarkable performances throughout the year, the Spanish driver was forced to retire on numerous occasions, due to mechanical problems with his power unit. Currently behind his team-mate in the overall standings, he could be in a completely different position had his single-seater not failed him.
