Thanks to a good start and strong defense, Romain Grosjean managed to get ahead of Mark Webber's Red Bull to finish in 2nd place in the United States Grand Prix held in Austin. The Frenchman is delighted with his performance. On the other side of the garage, Heikki Kovalainen encountered several issues that caused him to drop in the standings and finish out of the points.

Adrian Sutil had to retire just a few hundred meters after the start in Austin following a contact with Pastor Maldonado. All hopes for the Sahara Force India team were therefore pinned on Paul di Resta, but the VJM06 was too hard on the tires and with two pit stops, the Scotsman finished far from the points.

Valtteri Bottas enabled the Williams F1 team to score four additional points by finishing in 8th place at the United States Grand Prix. The Finn is thrilled to score his first points in F1. Pastor Maldonado had a more complicated race, compromised by his pit stop in the early laps following his contact with Sutil. He finished 17th.

Thanks to its two drivers, the Mercedes team has consolidated its second place in the constructors' championship against Ferrari and Lotus. Lewis Hamilton finished 4th and is pleased with his race and the chassis change made before the Texas weekend. Nico Rosberg had a tougher time in Austin but still finished in the points in 9th position.

Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde failed to finish ahead of the Marussia. The two Caterham drivers were outpaced by Jules Bianchi. Pic once again experienced problems with his car, as in the previous races, while van der Garde was never able to pass Bianchi, who had a better top speed.

The Red Bulls occupy the front row ahead of Romain Grosjean and Nico Hülkenberg. An impressive performance from Kovalainen on his return to F1, the Finn is 8th.
