The Belgian weekend brought luck to the almost local of the stage, Giedo van der Garde, who confirmed his Q2 by finishing 16th, ahead of Pastor Maldonado. Charles Pic, on the other hand, had to retire very early in the race due to an oil leak.

Fernando Alonso delivered one of the best performances this Sunday at Spa. Starting from 9th, he managed to climb to second place, securing a podium for his team. Although Lewis Hamilton started on pole position at Spa, it didn't take long for Vettel to take control of the race. His teammate, Nico Rosberg, held his ground, finishing 4th. After the race, both Mercedes drivers agreed that there are many positive aspects to take away, while hoping to do better next time.

After a completely failed qualifying session, the Toro Rosso team managed to recover today during the race at Spa-Francorchamps. Daniel Ricciardo secured the point for 10th place while Jean-Eric Vergne had to settle for 12th place.
