Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa finished the Brazilian Grand Prix, the last race of the 2011 season, just a few seconds apart. Performing well on soft tires, Ferrari experienced balance difficulties as soon as the hard tires were fitted. Fernando Alonso finished 4th, just steps away from the podium, while Felipe Massa, racing at home, finished 5th and performed some donuts for his fans once the race was over.

Jean-Eric Vergne once again delivered the best performance of the day. The Frenchman at the wheel of the Red Bull has shown throughout the week that he has the potential to make it to Formula 1. He registered his best time just 0.4 seconds off Sebastian Vettel's pole position. Sam Bird is second in the Mercedes GP, ahead of Jules Bianchi in the Ferrari, who had been in third place since the start of private testing in Abu Dhabi.

At the lunch break, Vergne and Bianchi are still at the top of the leaderboard on the third day of private testing in Abu Dhabi. The two French drivers lead over Red Bull and Ferrari. Nathanael Berthon and Charles Pic are currently in 9th and 10th positions.

At the end of the second day of private testing in Abu Dhabi, Jean-Eric Vergne still holds the best time. The Frenchman hasn't improved his lap since the morning session but managed to stay ahead of Jules Bianchi by nearly a tenth. The other two French drivers, Charles Pic and Nathanaël Berthon, were competing with less competitive cars, at the back of the pack.

Today in Abu Dhabi was the first day of private testing for young drivers (Rookies Days). Under the sun and on a clean track, many laps were completed and the French drivers shone. As this morning, Jean-Eric Vergne is at the top of the standings this evening. He is ahead of his compatriot Jules Bianchi while Charles Pic was behind the wheel of the Virgin.
